Our Mission
The Alberni Valley Drag Race Association strives to bring the sport of drag racing to the Alberni Valley and to increase opportunities for economic growth, cultural capital, volunteerism and destination tourism.
Thunder in the Valley, an Economic Driver
Since 2001, the Alberni Valley Drag Race Association has been hosting the annual Thunder in the Valley racing event. Thunder in the Valley is a huge ecenomic driver for the region, with a total potential ecenomic impact affect on the Port Alberni economy between $1.1 Million and $1.8 Million.
